BTS Beats Own Record With Love Yourself: Tear Pre-Orders
Microphones continue to drop for BTS as they break their own record with the Love Yourself: Tear album pre-orders!
Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook, Rap Monster, J-Hope, and Suga are definitely claiming this week as theirs! The boys continue to reach yet another huge achievement.
With the heightened anticipation over the group’s upcoming third full-length album Love Yourself: Tear, the Bangtan boys and their fans have just surpassed their own record for the most number of stock pre-order sales by any K-pop group!
According to Big Hit Entertainment, a total of 1,449,287 album pre-orders have been made as of April 24 – just six days after pre-order sales opened on April 18.
The recorded number is 400,000 more than the stock pre-orders for Love Yourself: Her which the group released in August 2017. The mini album serves as the first installment in BTS’ Love Yourself series and previously held the record with 1,051,546 stock pre-orders.
Think that’s shocking? Well, here’s more: this is just the total number of stock pre-orders made by wholesale dealers and retailers in Korea. It does not include the stock pre-orders made by international retailers yet, which would surely significantly increase the count once added.
Love Yourself: Tear had quickly climbed up Amazon’s bestseller list in the CDs & Vinyl category in just one day. The album also continues to stay on top of Amazon’s album pre-order list for the eighth consecutive day as of April 26.
The album will be released on May 18, two days before the group holds their comeback stage on the Billboard Music Awards. Aside from performing a new single, the boys will also be attending as nominees for the Top Social Artist category for the second year.
BTS is the first K-pop group to be included in the performer lineup for the awards ceremony. They are also the first K-pop group to ever win in the BBMAs. This year, the BTS ARMY hopes to set another record by taking the award home again.
