BTS Wins Big With “Love Yourself” Tour At The Edaily Culture Awards
BTS makes history with the Love Yourself tour once more at the 6th Edaily Culture Awards!
The recently concluded Edaily Culture Awards honors the best and brightest of Korean performing arts. This year’s awards show is different, as BTS brings home the highest award for a concert category.
BTS brought home the Daesang and the Best Concert award for their ongoing Love Yourself world tour. The tour has visited a total of 51 countries across Asia, the United States, and Europe since it began in August 2018.
The tour has been recognized as one of the best-sellling concerts last year, bringing in massive audiences across the Japanese leg of their tour.
The tour also resulted BTS to be the first Korean act to perform at New York’s Citi Field Arena, where tickets for the show were sold out in under 10 minutes.
Aside from the high ticket sales, the concert has also received high praise from international critics. The tour has been recognized as an inclusive and immersive experience, despite its size. Critics have also noted that the tour highlights the search for self-identity and accepting oneself.
The group’s acceptance speech highlighted the importance of culture in their artistry. “I believe that this culture is alive by my side and that while enjoying this culture, a human becomes more human,” notes RM.
BTS is set to embark on their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tour this May. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are slated to perform in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
