Time Magazine conducts the search for the personalities who had the hugest influence for the past twelve months with their “Person of the Year” award annually.  It was launched in 1927 and in 2018, United States’ then-President-elect Donald Trump was named by the company as the “Person of the Year”.

The online polls had started being run by the magazine company in 1998 to check who the readers might suggest for the title. However, the online polls do not determine the year’s title holder as the magazine’s editors have the final and ultimate say on who gets to be selected as the “Person of the Year”.

Time had included BTS on their list of “next generation leaders” last October, and they also got the chance to be on the magazine’s global edition cover along with this recognition.

The group also placed alongside huge names such as Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, award-winning singer Rihanna, and more in Time Magazine’s “25 Most Influential People On The Internet” list in 2017 – plus making their second appearance on the list in 2018!
