[CONCERT RECAP] Taeyeon, THE BOYZ, & aespa Deliver A Delightful “K-Verse” In Manila

Three well-loved K-pop acts treated Filipino fans with an ultimate K-pop experience last Tuesday!

Taeyeon, THE BOYZ, and aespa met their fans in the Philippines to deliver delightful performances through K-Verse in Manila.

Brought to fans by MakeitLive, Content Sandbox, FangirlAsia, A Planet Entertainment, and Sinchunoung, the first-ever K-Verse in Manila happened on April 11, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Sought-after female K-pop quartet aespa was the first performer of the night. Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning enthralled the crowd with their hit songs “Black Mamba,” “Illusion,” “Life’s Too Short,” “Lingo,” and “Savage.”

Celebrating her special day, Karina received a sweet serenade of “Happy Birthday” from the audience. She expressed her gratitude, saying, this is such a memorable birthday for me. You guys are my gift. Thank you so much!

Ningning also applauded the energy of the fans. “First of all, I’m so happy that all of us are here. Like the hot weather, your cheers are so passionate as well. We really enjoyed our time here,” she said.

THE BOYZ

Charismatic boy group THE BOYZ took the center stage next. 

Showing why they are indeed a team to stan for, Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric amazed the crowd with their visuals and performances. They performed “ROAR,” “MAVERICK,” “The Stealer,” “Salty,” “Dancing Till We Drop,” and “THRILL RIDE.”

Jacob said, “It’s been four years since our last visit here. We miss you so much!” Sunwoo, who is celebrating his birthday on April 12, also shared, “I want you to enjoy tonight’s show as much as we do. Thank you so much!”

Taeyeon

The last performer was Girls’ Generation’s leader Taeyeon. With her stage presence and captivating vocals, she amazed everyone by singing “I,” “Toddler,” “Set Myself On Fire,” “Four Seasons,” “What Do I Call You,” and “INVU.”

Impressed by the passionate cheers from the fans, Taeyeon said, “Your reaction is so hot and I think I really need to come back here for a solo concert. I’m actually preparing for a concert. I hope you wait for me until then.”

With Taeyeon, THE BOYZ, and aespa’s fascinating stages partnered with the fans’ thunderous cheers, K-Verse became a great memory that we can all cherish for a long time. Filipino fans are surely looking forward to seeing more of this kind of concert in the future!
