EXO And BTS Kick Off 2019 With Top Positions On Billboard Charts

EXO and BTS are on top of Billboard charts in the first week of 2019!

Top boy groups EXO and BTS said hello to 2019 with top positions on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales and Social 50 charts, respectively.

EXO, who ended 2018 with the release of its fifth repackaged album Love Shot, continued its reign on the World Digital Song Sales chart for the third consecutive week with its song “Love Shot”. The title track of its newest album spent its third week on the chart for the week ending January 5.

Before 2018 ended, “Love Shot” became the best-selling K-Pop song in the United States for the week ending December 20 with 2,000 copies sold. It then secured the final number one on the chart for that year.

Meanwhile, BTS maintains its number one spot on Billboard’s Social 50 chart for the week ending January 5. The boy group remain undisputed as it spends the top position on the chart for 107 weeks. Fellow K-Pop groups EXO, NCT, and GOT7 followed to take the second, third, and fourth spot on the chart.

Additionally, BTS’ Love Yourself: Answer is the number one album on the World Album chart for the week ending January 5. Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Her came next to occupy the second and third positions on the chart. EXO’s fifth full album Don’t Mess Up My Tempo remains strong on the chart at number four.
