(G)I-DLE Overwhelmingly Shoots Up To Take The Lead Among K-Pop Girl Groups In October

Hail to (G)I-DLE for being the Queens of K-Pop in October!

Based on the recently released data from the Korean Research Business Institute, femme fatale group (G)I-DLE has taken the crown as the leading K-Pop girl group for the month of October.

The brand reputation rankings were determined through the various indices including consumer participation, media, communication, and community. In particular, the institute extracted a huge amount of date from September 11 to October 12.

The Power of (G)I-DLE

Climbing up the rankings from 20th seat to the No. 1 spot, femme fatale K-Pop group (G)I-DLE has taken the top seed after marking a striking 598.33 percent increase in their score since September. Soyeon, Soojin, Miyeon, Shuhua, Minnie, and Yuqi were able to grab the first place thanks to their total brand reputation index of 15,678,703.

Some of the high-ranking phrases in the power K-Pop girl group’s keyword analysis include flattering words such as “hot”, “cute”, and “like”.

Currently gaining a lot of attention from viewers, the group is busy participating in Mnet’s survival show Queendom alongside AOA, MAMAMOO, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz, and Park Bom. With the show’s growing popularity, “Queendom”, “Minnie”, and “Soojin” were likewise present in the girls’ highest-ranking related terms.

Aside from impressing everyone with their talents through Queendom, the idol group will also be treating fans with powerful stages at the 2019 Asia Artist Awards in Vietnam. They will be headlining the much-anticipated ceremony on November 26 alongside other K-Pop acts including Super Junior, TWICE, Red Velvet, GOT7, ITZY, TXT, and more.

TWICE Steady At Second Place

Coming in at second place is TWICE. Dubbed as “Asia’s girl group”, the nonet continues to amaze everyone with their steady ranking. Particularly, the beautiful and talented idols were able to score a brand reputation index of 9,407,113.

Meanwhile, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Sana, Momo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu recently made their highly-awaited comeback with Feel Special.

After being dethroned as the girl group with the highest first-week sales by groups like BLACKPINK and IZ*ONE, TWICE takes the title back with their most recent comeback. On September 30, Hanteo Charts reported that the female idol group has sold 154,028 copies of their most recent release within their first week—beating the record they set with FANCY YOU by a considerable margin, which sold 151,051 copies on its first week.

Red Velvet Drops At Third Spot

Previously leading the list last month, Red Velvet fell down a bit in the rankings to take the third place. Specifically, Irene, Wendy, Seulgi, Joy, Yeri were able to acquire a brand reputation index of 5,580,904.

Moreover, rounding up the top five are MAMAMOO and IZ*ONE who placed fourth and fifth, respectively. MAMAMOO was able to obtain a brand reputation index of 5,469,182. IZ*ONE, on the other hand, recorded a total of 5,233,111.
