Ha Sung Woon Shows Excitement As First Solo Album Release Draws Near

Ha Sung Woon is ready to face the new challenge in his singing career – and that is going solo.

On February 27, the singer held a press conference at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul. This was in preparation for the upcoming release of his first solo mini-album My Moment.

Ha Sung Woon got candid about his feelings in releasing his first independent record. “I feel a little nervous and there is a lot of excitement in the first solo album,” he said.

“I am excited because it is a different kind of music from what I showed before”, he added.

He described his first mini album as an album that reflects his daily life. “I worked on songs that can be heard in the morning, lunch, afternoon, evening and early morning” he said.

Sung Woon is the second person to release a solo album, following Yoon Ji Sung’s solo debut EP. He impressed the crowd as he performed his new song “BIRD”, completed with choreographed dance moves.

The former Wanna One member was an active participant in the making of the album. Ha Sung Woon co-wrote and co-composed the five songs in the album – “Don’t Forget”, “BIRD“, Horses”, “Suddenly”, and “Lonely Night”. He mentioned he found it more meaningful as he took part in the process.

On the title track “BIRD”, the idol said that it is a song about him flying like a bird and he will try to go up as high as he can.

“Being a singer is a dream of mine since I was a kid. I have been living that dream and I did a lot of things with Wanna One, for which I am thankful for.”

He feels a different kind of excitement as he thinks of the other members embarking on their solo careers. He said that he has no idea what kind of music the other members would showcase but he is sure it is going to be different as they all have distinct colors.

“This album is more about the music that I want to do and I try not to think of the result. I will be thankful if the fans listen to the songs and like it as it is something I created. I think it would be great if they think this is Ha Sung Woon’s music,” he concluded.

Ha Sung Woon’s first solo mini-album My Moment will be out via various music streaming platforms on February 28 at 6PM KST.
