Hwasa Rings In Her Birthday With A “Watermelon Sugar” High

Hwasa truly steals hearts with her flawless rendition of Harry Styles’ sizzling summer anthem “Watermelon Sugar”! 

MAMAMOO’s Hwasa has a sweet surprise for MOOMOO on her birthday. She looks ever so snazzy in a stunning new video of a captivating cover of Harry Styles’  “Watermelon Sugar”.

Hwasa rocked a casual chic look. She swayed listeners with her sultry vocals and dazzled viewers with her delighful visuals. The video showcased a playful side of the singer as she presented her take of Styles’ song. 

The singer brings summer straight into her apartment in the music video. Fittingly dressed in a watermelon pink crop top and casual pants, Hwasa is surrounded by whirring fans.

However she takes to her sun lit balcony as she sings into a microphone. The singer croons in her honeyed voice, “Strawberries on a summer evenin’/ Baby you’re the end of June/ I want your belly and that summer feelin’/ Getting washed away in you/ Breathe me in, breathe me out/ I don’t know if I could ever go without/ Watermelon sugar, high”. 

Hwasa stays fairly true to Harry Styles’ original video, as the MAMAMOO member recreates the original video’s sunny vibes. She performs in a laid back and fun manner.

The multi talented artist wears some retro sunglasses, tossing a beach ball while still being at home enjoying a slice of juicy watermelon. She truly shines on her cover of the pop star’s track.

Moreover, the vocalist has shown off her versatility as an musician. Hwasa amazed with her solo debut album María that released a few weeks back. The EP further, peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s World Albums chart dated July 10 as well. 

Additionally, Hwasa has impressed fans and proved her mettle as a powerhouse artist through other notable works in the recent times as well. Particularly, her collaboration with Dua Lipa on a bilingual K-pop remix of the star’s 2020 single “Physical” truly made an impact on listeners.

She also showcased her dulcet tones on the OST of the hit K-Drama series The King: Eternal Monarch with the melodic number “Orbit”. 

Previously, she has shared beautiful covers of tracks “Ave Maria,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “City of Stars,” and Khalid’s “Talk,” as well as released an official version of her original song “Be Alright.”
