IU Surprises Fans With Her Sweet Single ‘Heart’

Singer and actress IU has given Uaenas a surprise present as a way to repay their love and support, by releasing a special digital single titled Heart at midnight on May 18 (KST).

On the same day, the star’s agency announced the news regarding the song release through her official Facebook page, as well as uploading a picture of the star covering half of her face, with the name of the new track Ma-eum (Heart) written on her left palm.

The label wrote:

IU Digital Single <Ma-eum> Release

This is IU’s present for you (fans), who have shown your constant love from congratulating IU on her birthday to supporting her new drama ‘The Producers.’ Now, let’s enjoy the song which contains IU’s thankful heart to you.

Earlier on May 17, the singer also posted this photo on her personal Instagram account, captioning: “Birthday is over! Thank you. At this time tomorrow I will give you back a present.”

Heart, which is written and arranged by IU and Kim Jae Hwi, first made itself heard at the end of the second episode of The Producers. It is now available via online music sites.

In related news, IU is currently starring in the KBS 2TV new drama The Producers, alongside Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, and Kim Soo Hyun. She plays Cindy, a famous singer who became a trainee when she was 13 years old. She is called the ice princess for her poker face and complete control over her emotions. The drama airs on every Friday and Saturday at 9:15 p.m (KST) via KBS 2TV, starting from May 15 for 12 episodes.
