KARA is set to make a comeback in July, as announced by their agency RBW on June 18.

The group, consisting of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji, plans to release a new song next month, aiming to uphold their status as the ‘Korean Wave Queen’.

This comeback follows approximately one year and eight months after their special album MOVE AGAIN, which commemorated their 15th debut anniversary and was released in November 2022.

The album demonstrated the group’s enduring strength and garnered significant attention.

The title track “WHEN I MOVE” from MOVE AGAIN immediately rose to the top of major domestic music charts upon release and secured first place on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’.

This achievement marked KARA as the first girl group from their generation to achieve first-place wins on music shows spanning the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.

The group’s influence as the ‘Korean Wave Queen’ was further solidified when they appeared on the year-end special of TV Asahi’s ‘MUSIC STATION’, Japan’s prominent music program.

Additionally, ‘WHEN I MOVE’ was recognized as the ‘Best K-Pop Song of 2022’ by US Billboard, underscoring their powerful global impact.

With this successful comeback, KARA is gearing up to celebrate their 17th debut anniversary with both domestic and international fans.

The group is poised to add another significant chapter to K-POP history, given their widespread popularity and devoted fan base.

Looking ahead, KARA plans to release their new song in Korea in July and will hold a full-scale concert series titled ‘KARASIA’ in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in August, further solidifying their presence in the global music scene.
