Dami Im was the underdog  that won the X Factor Australia last year and now she plans to release her debut song in Korea.

The 24 year old singer’s follow-up single Super Love has been reported to be her ‘debut’ single in South Korea. It has not been confirmed whether it will be released in Korean or English.

The singer will be heading back to Korea for the first time since her win in October to reunite with her family. She also plans to meet with record label bosses to showcase her new single.

“When I won, everyone was excited that a Korean-born contestant had won the Australian X Factor,” she said.

“I don’t know how (the single) is going to go over there but I definitely want to have a go.”

She wrote the song to dedicate to her husband, Noah who took time off from work this year to spend time with her in the studio while she writes and record materials for her new album.

“For me, when someone like Noah loves you that much unconditionally, no matter what happens, you are happy. Everything in the world becomes better,” she said.

The Korean-born Australian was sent home packing during the boot camps after forgetting her lyrics during last year’s series. However, after a change of events, when another finalist left the competition, Im was invited back onto the show unexpectedly.

Dami Im was a favourite to win after surprising everyone during her first live performance of U2’s One. She went on to receiving 9/12 standing ovations from the judges.

Im was eventually crowned as the first Asian winner of the X Factor Australian series and subsequently released her debut single Alive, which debuted at  number one in Australia and also peaked at #29 in South Korea, #25 in the Philippines and #16 in Singapore with no promotion.

Super Love is available for pre-order in Australia now and will be released on May 14.
