MONSTA X Reigns On TIME Magazine And PopCrush’s Year End Music Lists With “ALL ABOUT LUV”

MONSTA X showcased their global popularity again and this time with their album ALL ABOUT LUV. The album was included in TIME Magazine’s “The Songs and Albums That Defined K-Pop’s Monumental Year in 2020” article. It also features on PopCrush’s “25 Best Albums of 2020” list. 

About the album, TIME Magazine wrote, “ALL ABOUT LUV made headlines this year for being the first all-English album from a K-pop group in more than a decade, the project isn’t just notable for its linguistic direction. Sweet tunes, dulcet harmonies, and tender falsettos abound in songs that range from bouncy electro-pop jams to gentle, synth-infused ballads. Better known for their aggressive, anthemic bangers, the members of Monsta X here unleash a soft and sensual side as they teasingly sing some of K-pop’s most suggestive lyrics”. They added, “Rappers Joohoney and I.M get a special nod for flexing their singing pipes in this vocal-centric album”.

Meanwhile, PopCrush, in an article titled “25 BEST ALBUMS OF 2020” averred that “When you hear the name “MONSTA X,” you might think about the group’s masculine aura and bass-thumping music. However, the K-pop group takes it down a notch and reveals a softer and more sensual side with their first English album, ALL ABOUT LUV”.

The album has been much loved by fans across the globe. During the time of its release, ALL ABOUT LUV topped multiple charts around the world. It had debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard 200 dated February 29, 2020. In addition, it also featured on Billboard’s 50 Best Albums of 2020 (So Far) list as well.

Furthermore, the album also topped in multiple countries namely Belarus, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, Finland, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam on the worldwide iTunes chart as well at the time of its release.

MONSTA X has been stirring hearts with not just this album, but also their recent releases as well. The group radiated immense power with “FANTASIA” from their mini-album FANTASIA X that released in May. Moreover, reiterating their ‘powerhouse’ status, the group topped the Hanteo chart’s monthly global chart with “Love Killa,” the lethal lead track from their third full-length album FATAL LOVE.

The group also achieved some very striking feats including winning their very first Daesang for the “Stage of the Year” award at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards. They won the award for “Best Performance” at the 2020 MMA awards and also the award for the “Best Stage” at the recent 2020 MAMA awards. MONSTA X achieved the “Artist of the Year” at the 2020 The Fact Music Awards as well.

Meanwhile, MONSTA X has recently successfully completed activities for their third full-length album FATAL LOVE and have been active in many ways.
