Netizens compare WINNER Mino to G-Dragon in solo MV

After YG Entertainment’s new band WINNER released two MVs from their first album, member Mino‘s solo song I’m Him also got an MV release on August 30. The mostly black and white video fits the mood of the song, showcasing Mino’s rapping skills and charismatic appearance.

However, some fans and netizens expessed their concern in the video comments, regarding Mino’s mimicry, gestures and mannerisms, which some found incredibly similar to G-Dragon’s. One fan wrote:

“Mino is my bias but he needs to stop expressing or make gesture like GD” [sic],”

While another expressed:

“[a]lthough I notice similarities among Mino, GD and TOP, I never think Mino copies GD or TOP whatsoever. […] He has his own style. Also, you can’t help having similar look right?” [sic]

Others complained that it is not fair to compare him to G-Dragon or Taeyang, and that his similar facial look is not his fault, since it is genetics that cannot be helped. Yet others asked fans to stop creating fan wars between Inner Circles and VIPs.
