NewJeans has once again achieved million-seller status with their latest album “How Sweet,” marking their fourth consecutive success.

According to their agency ADOR on the 8th, the double single “How Sweet,” released on the 24th of last month, sold 1,085,355 copies (including general and Weverse sales) based on the Circle Chart’s May album chart.

This achievement places all four of NewJeans’ releases since their debut in July 2022 on the million-seller list.

Their previous releases, the debut album “New Jeans” and the single album “OMG,” sold over 1.59 million and 1.66 million copies, respectively. Their second EP Get Up was their first double million-seller, with sales exceeding 2.14 million copies.

NewJeans‘ status as a music powerhouse remains strong. The title track “How Sweet” and the B-side “Bubble Gum” are topping major domestic music charts like Melon, Genie, and Bugs. On Spotify’s latest ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart (for the period May 31 – June 6), “How Sweet” ranked 119th for two consecutive weeks.

The song also performed well on major international charts, placing 7th on the US Billboard’s ‘Global (excluding the US)’, 12th in ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100’, and 15th in ‘Global 200’, showcasing its global appeal.

Additionally, NewJeans had three songs (Ditto, OMG, and ETA) on Billboard Japan’s ‘2024 First Half Chart’ (counting period November 27, 2023 – May 26, 2024), the most among foreign artists.

Despite being released before the counting period, these songs have continued to chart well into this year, highlighting the enduring popularity of NewJeans’ music.

Anticipation is high for their Japanese debut single ‘Supernatural,’ set to be released on the 21st.
