OH MY GIRL Talks About Comeback Concepts, Strengths, And More
OH MY GIRL sits down with Cosmopolitan Korea to talk about their experiences competing in Mnet’s Queendom.
Mnet’s Queendom has allowed a lot of girl groups to showcase their charms and explore new concepts: something that OH MY GIRL has made the most out of to earn a bigger following through their music. In an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, OH MY GIRL talked about their experience on the show thus far.
“We haven’t had the chance to show various stages before, but we’re thrilled to be able to try different concepts in this contest,” the group shares. “It’s especially nice to get to sit down with the members to share ideas and discuss feedback from our stage. Queendom has definitely allowed us to show off our charms through a new stage.”
More than anything, the girls share their excitement over exploring new concepts in their music. The girls recently bagged a first place win in the show through their song “Twilight,” which showcases a vampire concept. “We’ve wanted to try this concept for a long time,” they shared. “If we get the chance, we hope to use this as an album concept someday.”
The group shared how they have had a good experience on the show so far. “Whenever we prepare for an album, the company plans the concepts we use,” they add. “Our Queendom stages are planned by the members. We know each other best, so we think the results are better.”
When asked if their girl-like concept approaches the limit, the group responded: “Our fairy tale atmosphere is the strength of OH MY GIRL, and it’s the color we can best express.” The group expressed the importance of sticking to their identity as much as possible. “We don’t want to abandon our identity to showcase a new look, because we think it’s important for a girl to have more than one color.”
Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Jiho, Binnie, and Arin will be wrapping up their Queendom run through the finale on October 31.
