SEVENTEEN Becomes First K-Pop Male Artist To Have Four Albums Rank No. 1 In Oricon Weekly Album Charts

SEVENTEEN continues dominating the Japanese music industry with their newest album!

SEVENTEEN has made history yet again, on Japan’s largest music record charts Oricon, with their second Japanese mini-album 24H!

Record-breaking and historic feat

According to Oricon, SEVENTEEN becomes the first foreign male artist in history to accomplish four-straight crowns on the Weekly Album Chart. Furthermore, they are the third foreign act in general to do so, following the American singer Mariah Carey (November 30, 1998) and K-Pop girl group TWICE (May 13, 2019).

SEVENTEEN’s 24H, placed No.1 on Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart for the week of September 7-13. Prior to its release, the album reached 450,000 retail pre-orders. Among those, more than 240,000 copies in its first week were sold. In total, 2.34 million album records from the group have been shipped just this year alone.

Following the group’s three previous releases – sixth mini-album YOU MADE MY DAWN, third full-length album An Ode and seventh mini-album Henggarae24H marks the group’s fourth consecutive No. 1 on chart.

Aside from their newest career milestone, SEVENTEEN proves their powerful presence by surpassing 1.09 million first-week album sales for their recent Korean album Henggarae. Hitting these amazing record, the group officially earn the title “million-seller“.

SEVENTEEN’s 24H

“24H” carries the message, “Even if we walk on different paths like the hour and minute hand of the clock, we will meet again like fate someday.” Like its title, SEVENTEEN is, and will always be with CARATs.

Along with the title song of the same name, 24H has a total of five tracks. This includes the Japanese versions of “24/7”, “Chilli” and “Pinwheel” and “Together”.

Aside from showcasing their vocal prowess, SEVENTEEN also takes their choreography and synchronization in another level. Proving that they are truly “stage masters”, the group has been receiving enthusiastic response from the public and is constantly praised for providing fantastic performances.

SEVENTEEN’s dependable leader S.Coups conveyed, “We would like to thank CARATs for constantly supporting us. Through your love and support, we were able to top the Oricon Weekly Album Chart. Considering the current pandemic situation, he expressed regrets and said, “We were happy to set new records with 24H. However, we are extremely sad that we cannot share the pleasant news with you in person.
