“Oh Sorry Ya”: A Global Endeavor

Sunmi is the representative for the Asia region as part of the “EQUAL Campaign”. She produced the track alongside “LYRE”, a songwriting-producing pair from Los Angeles.

“Oh Sorry Ya” will feature a rhythmic bassline delivering a retro-inspired sound. The song extends the narrative of “Borderline” from her third mini-album, 1/6. The initial track communicated Sunmi’s personal and sincere feelings while her upcoming release builds on this honesty and explores a contrast between her past and new selves as if they were speaking to one another.

In regards to the project, Sunmi stated, “It is an honor to participate in a meaningful project on behalf of Asia. I enjoyed the collaboration process with LYRE, a global female producer team, and I am happy to present good results. I hope you listen to it a lot.”

While the song itself has an exclusive release through Spotify, it will also release on TikTok. Furthermore, the artist will host a challenge using “Oh Sorry Ya”.

Abyss Company expressed excitement about the track. The agency explained, “As she participated in the EQUAL x Spotify Singles project as the only Asian artist, Spotify has supported Sunmi in various fields, including this project, to take a step further as a global artist.”

Additionally, Spotify stated, “Sunmi is one of the representative K-Pop solo artists who has established her own territory and has been selected in line with the purpose of the EQUAL project to support and promote female artists with various charms.”

Meanwhile, “Oh Sorry Ya” releases today at 2 PM KST.
