DEOBIs would have to wait for a little while to see Sunwoo on stage again with his fellow THE BOYZ members due to recent his health concerns.

THE BOYZ’s resident and talented rapper Sunwoo will be going on a temporary hiatus due to health concerns.

On the afternoon of August 30, THE BOYZ’s agency IST Entertainment released a statement regarding Sunwoo’s health status.

They said that Sunwoo recently complained of health difficulties and worsening his condition, prompting them to undergo a serious discussion with the artist himself on what measures to take to address the concern.

IST Entertainment has ultimately decided that Sunwoo would be temporarily halting all activities in order to fully rest and focus on his recovery for the time being.

Regarding Sunwoo’s return, the agency added that they will make a separate announcement about it soon as well as the artist’s recovery.

“We ask for fans’ understanding regarding this decision, which was made due to considering our artist’s health our top priority, and we apologize to the fans for giving you cause for concern with this sudden news, and we ask for the fans to give [Sunwoo] lots of encouragement and support,” IST Entertainment concluded.

Shortly after the announcement was made, DEOBIs from all over the world immediately expressed their concern to their beloved idol. Sunwoo took over Twitter’s Trending list, along with the hashtag “GetWellSoonSunwoo.”

Meanwhile, THE BOYZ recently made their comeback with their chart-topping and record-breaking seventh EP Be Aware and its lead single “Whisper.” The album sold over 569,000 copies during the first week and even dominated Circle Album Chart and Oricon’s Japanese Albums Chart and Japanese Combined Albums Chart.

The mini album’s title track “Whisper” also earned THE BOYZ two music show wins so far on KBS’ Music Bank and MBC’s Show! Music Core.
