TVXQ tops the Oricon Weekly Chart again
TVXQ continues its reign on the Japanese Oricon Charts by ranking first yet again with new Japanese single, Android.
Android ranked first on the day of its release, which was on July 11, and then ranked first again on the weekly charts. This is the eleventh time TVXQ has topped the Oricon weekly single chart and there are already over three million copies sold.
TVXQ’s popularity has also been broadcast through Oricon’s website with the site reporting: “TVXQ!’s new single topped the Oricon single chart by selling 152,000 copies of their new single in the first week of its release. With this, the total sales of TVXQ!’s singles have exceeded 3,104,000. This is the largest sales volume for foreign singing groups in 10 years and 10 months since the American duo ‘Carpenters,’ who sold a total of 3,002,000 copies.”
With the release of STILL in March, the members of TVXQ became the first foreign artists to top the Oricon weekly single chart ten times. With Android, TVXQ has now broken its own record.
