MORE & MORE First Impression
TWICE’s ninth mini-album MORE & MORE – the newest addition to their discography – presents a different flavor than their previous releases. Unveiling another captivating side, the group is wowing everyone with their comeback’s tantalizing tropical and tribal-like themes.
The K-Pop nonet’s latest mini-album houses seven brand-new tracks including their title track “MORE & MORE”, “OXYGEN,” “FIREWORK,” “MAKE ME GO,” “SHADOW,” “DON’T CALL ME AGAIN,” and “SWEET SUMMER DAY.”
Spearheaded by their very own CEO and acclaimed singer-songwriter Park Jin Young, several hit-makers including Uzoechi Emenike, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Zara Larsson, and MNEK also participated in the arrangement and composition of the songs.
Penned and composed by JYP, TWICE’s newest title track “MORE & MORE” charms with its tropical house sound. It narrates the story about two people in love. While the couple is at the peak of excitement and sweetness in their relationship, they express their growing desire to be with each other more and more.
Next in line is “OXYGEN” which appeals with its bright and cheerful shuffle rhythm partnered with the girls’ fresh voices. A Latin genre song, “FIREWORK” compares the emotions of falling in love with tantalizing pyrotechnics.
Written by TWICE’s eldest member Nayeon, “MAKE ME GO” delivers a message to avoid hesitating and just go closer. The song “SHADOW”, which is gifted by known composer team LDN Noise, is about confessing feelings that were concealed for a long time. Meanwhile, “DON’T CALL ME AGAIN” poses a warning to someone who can’t let go of lingering feelings.
Last but definitely not least is “SWEET SUMMER DAY.” The track, penned by Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung, gives a feeling of enjoying the present moment.
