WJSN Wins Next Generation Hallyu Star Award At “2020 Newsis Hallyu Expo”

WJSN demonstrates their global trend power by winning the Next Generation Hallyu Star Award at the 2020 Newsis Hallyu Expo.
Next Generation Hallyu Star Award
Held last August 26, WJSN took home the Next Generation Hallyu Star Award at the 2020 Newsis Hallyu Expo.
The mentioned award is given to new generation of Hallyu stars who highly impact the increase of global popularity of South Korean culture on global stage.
The agency of WJSN, Starship Entertainment, has also received the Korea Creative Content Agency Award. The said award is given to companies that contribute to the development of the cultural content industry and the spread of the Korean Wave (Hallyu).
For their speech, WJSN said, “We would like to thank our company, Starship Entertainment, for always working so hard. We also like thank our UJUNGs (WJSN’s fandom name). We will continue to work even harder so that we can communicate more with public through various contents.”
Since their debut in 2016, WJSN continues showcasing colorful music with wide range of concepts. Several members are actively participating in various fields including drama OST, acting, and variety. Recently, WJSN sets new record with their widely-loved track “Butterfly”, giving them two music show trophies and receiving spotlights from Billboard.
Upcoming Drama Projects
SeolA recently starred in Netflix’s bite-sized series Goedam, a horror anthology featuring Korean urban legends or classic ghost stories. In 2019, she made her acting debut in the web drama In-Outsider with VICTON’s Sejun.
Just recently, Starship Entertainment confirmed Bona as one of the casts of KBS 2TV’s new weekend drama Oh! Samkwang Villa (literal title).
Furthermore, Dayoung is making her acting debut through the webtoon-based drama Love Revolution. She will be joining Park Ji Hoon and The Boyz’s Younghoon. The mini-series will air on September 1.
Meanwhile, member Eunseo will play the lead role in the web drama titled Dalgona. Supported by South Korea’s Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Dalgona depicts high school students finding true friendship.
King Kong by Starship also confirmed Dawon as the main character in the musical film K School. The film will portray the dreams, love, and friendship of fashion school students who deal with various challenges to achieve their dreams.
