K-Photo Reel: IU Wields The Power Of Water And Earth In W Korea Photoshoot

W Korea’s upcoming issue hopes to shed light on environmental issues, and they have tapped on songstress IU to be their muse.

This month, W Korea hopes to bring more awareness towards the state of our environment. The magazine gave its readers a glimpse of how they hope to deliver a meaningful message—and it involves the transformation of IU into a goddess of water and earth.

“Please protect the Earth! This month, W is pleased to deliver a rich and creative message that helps create a future where people are aware that the ecosystem and we are one,” reads the magazine’s description for the previews. “IU has transformed into a messenger of water and earth – the two elements that bring life to the Earth, then stood in front of W’s camera and appear on the cover of this month.”

The songstress will be featured in two versions of the cover: one that draws inspiration from the oceans, and one that mimics the scenery of a forest. Although IU is dressed simple in both covers; in a blouse and pants, what captures everyone’s attention is her intense expression and elegant charm.

In related news, IU reportedly donated 315 million won to welfare facilities in Yangpyeong-gun. The songstress has focused her efforts on donating to facilities that cater to people with disabilities, to better protect them from the threat of COVID-19.
