Korean model-turned-actor Jang Ki Yong proves that he is an unstoppable force that must be faced head on.

Distinctly aware of his charms and strengths, the young actor has been set in conquering both the modelling and acting industry.

In his most recent photo shoot with Marie Claire, Jang headed to the sunny shores of Hawaii. He is the epitome of a man who looks relaxed and refreshed. His “resort look” is comprised of comfortable ensembles of linen pants paired with a white jacket. His perfectly disheveled hair frames a contemplative expression on his face.

The actor is actually no stranger in romantic dramas. Since his debut in 2014, Jang has taken roles in many dramas such as It’s Ok, This Is Love, The Greatest Wedding, Beatiful Mind, and This is My Love. Although he racked up dramas under his belt, it’s his role in The Liar and His Lover that captured the viewers’ attention. After this drama, his popularity skyrocketed even further as the mysterious yet charming Jung Nam Gil in the drama Go Back Couple. His silent and serious character fell in love with Jang Na Ra’s character Ma Jin Joo.

Jang turned serious in his next drama, My Mister. He showed a deeper depth in his acting in his intense and violent scenes with IU’s character, Lee Ji An. Jang took his acting one step further in his next drama,  Come And Hug Me. Relying heavily on suspense, the drama captivates its audience as both Jang and Jin Ki Joo’s characters struggle to move on from their traumatic pasts. Once again, Jang elevates his acting further as the troubled Jae Do Jin, who vows to protect Han Jae Yi from his own father.

Come And Hug Me was a benchmark in Jang’s career for two reasons. First, that was his first lead role. Furthermore, his effective portrayal earned him the Rookie Actor of the Year award in the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2018.
