As part of their project to educate children, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation will be kicking off a campaign in the form of a thank-you letter writing contest, which will be held for elementary, middle and high school students and young people nationwide.
Titled “Thank You, Teacher”, the contest was first launched in 2016 and saw a 355 percent increase in participating students over the past three years. The accumulated number of letters tallied so far since it was established had reached approximately 200,000. This 2019, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation has set a goal of receiving 150,000 letters, with its 20 percent set to be awarded to children.
ASTRO as this year’s Ambassadors
As one of the ways to achieve their goal for the year, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation enlisted the help of a well-loved K-Pop boy group, which was announced on April 17. The foundation has partnered up with the members of ASTRO, who all pledged full support for the successful hosting of their thank you-letter writing contest.
As the new promotional ambassador for the 4th National Audit Letter Writing Contest, the group aims to encourage more people to participate through shooting posters, public relations videos, and appearing as an emoticon model provided when participating in the campaign.

“In an era when communication is becoming increasingly difficult, we will play a big role in paving the way for communication between generations and proper character education by providing opportunities for our children to express our appreciation directly,” the chairman of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, Lee Je Hoon, said.
“With ASTRO as the project’s PR ambassador this year who are known for their outstanding music performances and warm looks, we expect more children to be interested in this year’s contests,” he added.
