Big Hit Entertainment And Source Music Become One In New Venture
Big Hit Entertainment takes over Source Music as a new business venture.
Recently, Big Hit Entertainment obtained the shares of Source Music. As a subsidiary, “Source Music plans to retain its current management to operate with its own color and independence as a music label.”
The takeover expands Big Hit Entertainment’s assemblage of artists. It includes GFRIEND as well as trainees with high potential to cut through in the thriving Korean music scene.
The head of Source Music, So Sung Jin, expressed his thoughts on the situation, “I am pleased to join the Big Hit label. The powerful experience of Big Hit creating global artists in a short span of time may become a solid background for Source Music.”
With this merger, it is expected for the artists of both agencies to shine brighter in the music industry. Bang Si Hyuk, the chief of Big Hit, said that Big Hit Entertainment and Source Music share the same philosophy. This became the reason of the acquisition.
Big Hit Entertainment’s acquirement of Source Music is their latest move towards broadening its future as a company. In related news, the BTS agency announced their transfer to a 19-story building to accommodate their growing family.
Big Hit Entertainment Artist Updates
Aside from BTS, Big Hit Entertainment has worked on the debut of their second boy group, Tomorrow by Together (TXT). The five-member boy group debuted on March 4. They are hailed as monster rookies with their debut album The Dream Chapter: Star.
Subsequently, worldwide artists BTS is having their well-deserved rest after their world tour. Their two month hiatus after the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour will end on September. After that, they will have their Saudi Arabia debut on October 10 at the King Fahd International Stadium.
On the other hand, Source Music is busy with GFRIEND’s Go Go GFRIEND Asia Tour. On August 25, they will party with Buddies in Manila at the New Frontier Theater.
