BIGBANG’s Daesung Leaves YG Entertainment After 16 Years

By  |

Daesung is the third member of the legendary boy group BIGBANG to leave YG Entertainment.

Following T.O.P and Taeyang, Daesung has also officially parted ways with YG Entertainment.

The agency said, “Daesung has decided to terminate his contract with us.” While he is no longer under the management of YG Entertainment, the agency noted that “it remains unchanged that Daesung is a member of BIGBANG.”

Previously, YG Entertainment announced that Taeyang will be working as an artist under its affiliated company, THEBLACKLABEL. It started as a label under YG in 2016. Even now, YG owns about 30% of the shares. Teddy from 1TIME, who wrote hit songs for singers under YG, such as BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK, is the head of the label.

Meanwhile, in February this year, T.O.P also left YG Entertainment after the expiration of his contract to pursue a wide variety of new challenges as both an artist and an entrepreneur. As for G-Dragon, the agency shared that they are still in negotiation with him regarding his contract.
