BTS has paved their way into the international spotlight by means of their empowering music, extraordinary talent, and amazing charisma. However, what adds to their X factor is the fact that they use their star power to make a positive change in this world.
One attestation to this would be when the septet was invited to the United Nations General Assembly in 2018. The group’s leader, RM, gave a speech to promote the launch of UNICEF’s “Love Myself” Campaign, which was aimed at ending violence against youth.
With the 75th United Nations General Assembly coming up, BTS is gearing up to give another speech, as they were invited by the Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security. RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook, V, and Jimin are slated to share their insights on the challenges that future generations could be facing due to the global health crisis of COVID-19. The assembly will be attended by 40 UN member states, including, South Korea, Sierra Leone, Qatar, Denmark, and Canada as co-chairs.
The Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security was an initiative launched by South Korea with the purpose to discuss health and security issues, such as the pandemic.
Proving to be a boyband that goes beyond talent, BTS constantly radiates heart, strength, and intelligence that positively impacts the youth. Fans all over the world are looking forward to the words of wisdom that BTS will impart during their second UN speech. We’re proud of the way you always speak yourselves and encourage others to do the same!
