BTS Achieves Historic Record On Oricon Chart With “Butter”

BTS continues to show their massive popularity in Japan!

BTS’ record-breaking track “Butter” has achieved a cumulative two million points in Oricon chart’s weekly combined singles chart.

According to Oricon, “Butter” earned 24,882 points in its latest weekly combined singles chart, which covers the counting period of January 24 to 30. The chart ranks the number of digital downloads and the number of streaming, and more.

With BTS’ recent score for “Butter,” the cumulative single ranking points for the song have now reached 2,033,724 points. Notably, it became only the fifth song in Oricon history ever to exceed two million points.

Moreover, the septet created a new record as the first artist to have two songs to achieve two million points on Oricon’s weekly combined singles chart. Previously, the boy group hit the two-million mark with “Dynamite” on January 10.

Oricon said, “‘Butter’ is the fifth song in history to exceed 2 million points in the singles chart. BTS is the first artist to have two songs with over two million points.”

Back on May 21 at 1 PM KST, RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook captivated fans with the release of their English digital single “Butter.”
