Congratulations, BTS!

Continuously making history in the global music scene, BTS took home three trophies at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

Held at the Barclays Center in New York earlier today, the boys won the Group of the Year, as well as Best K-Pop and Song of Summer for their record-breaking English track “Butter.” Notably, the septet earned the most awards this year along with other well-loved artists Olivia Rodrigo and Lil Nas X.

With this, BTS succeeded in winning the VMAs for three consecutive years. The group first bagged the Best K-pop category for “Boy With Luv” in 2019. Last year, they showed amazing power as they obtained trophies in four categories: Best Choreography, Best Pop, Best K-Pop, and Group of the Year.

Although RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were not able to attend the awards ceremony in person due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they expressed their gratitude to their fans through a pre-recorded video.

“ARMYs, this is all possible thanks to you guys. Although we can’t meet in person, we feel your love every minute and second,” said BTS’ leader RM.

The boys created a sensation around the world with their recent English singles “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” released in May and July, respectively.
