BTS Officially Receives Invitation From Grammys To Become Voting Members Of Recording Academy
Looks like BTS X Grammys does not just stop at the group’s recent attendance and nomination during this year’s ceremony!
BTS has been officially invited by Grammys themselves to take part in its highly-esteemed Recording Academy!
On June 7, Grammys announced that they have reached out to “highly-qualified music creators and business professionals” all around the world with a formal invitation to join their Recording Academy as its newest voting members.
Among those who received the 1,340 total invitations is internationally-acclaimed group BTS, who made an appearance in the Grammy awards ceremony this year. They receive a nomination for Best Recording Package for the album Love Yourself: Tear with HuskyFox. Additionally, they were enlisted by the institution to be one of the ceremony’s award presenters, specifically for the Best R&B Album category.
With this, they have also become the first Korean artists to get this opportunity and recognition. Proving their undeniable influence on the current music industry.
By becoming voting members of the Recording Academy, the group will get to cast their votes in the widely-celebrated Grammy Awards. With the start of their membership this year, BTS will be able to join the 2020 ceremony votings. Nonetheless, they are also still eligible to get nominated and awarded by the famous American institution in upcoming ceremonies.
Moreover, BigHit Entertainment’s CEO Bang Si Hyuk has also been invited to become a professional member of the Recording Academy. This type of membership is exclusively open to music executives, managers, publicists, agents, and other team members that work to support music creators only.
