BTS Becomes The First Korean Group To Perform At The Grammys
It was a short but memorable performance by BTS at the Grammys
BTS wrote a new history as they perform for the first time at the Grammys. They are also the first Korean group ever to perform at the award show.
BTS performed at the 62nd Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, USA on January 26.
The performance was part of the Old Town Road All-Stars stage and they shared the stage with Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey, Diplo, Young Thug, and Nas.
With the night view of the city and the LED screen in the background of BTS and Lil Nas X performed “Seoul Town Road”.
“Seoul Town Road” a remix of the hit song “Old Town Road” is a project between Lil Nas X and RM which was released last year. The performance which includes all the artists that were part of the collaboration attracted attention as a stage that symbolizes diversity beyond race, age, and language.
BTS has once again proven their status as a global artist by attending and performing at the prestigious music show which is hosted by The Recording Academy.
In 2019, they were the first Korean group to present an award at the Grammys. This year, they set the record as the first Korean group to perform at the awards’ stage.
BTS members said, “We said that we will come back last year. At that time, we thought that we wanted to stand on the stage while watching artists’ stages. It’s an honor to be here again as part of a fantastic collaboration stage.”
They also added, “Grammy Awards is the dream of all artists. We thank ARMY for bringing us here.”
In other news, BTS will be staging a performance of their pre-release song “Black Swan” from their fourth album Map Of The Soul: 7 at CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Corden on January 28.
