BTS Earns Their Very Own “Star” On Dubai’s Walk Of Fame

A historical star for historical stars is the exact definition for this recent achievement by BTS.

BTS has just added another huge accolade to their long list of worldwide recognition as they became the latest personalities to have their names up in Dubai’s star-studded Walk of Fame.

The boy group will officially have their name up on the upcoming Dubai Stars attraction, as revealed by their official Twitter account on July 2.

“A Dubai Star is now dedicated to the popular South Korean boy band from Seoul—@bts_bighit. Will you be cheering for them at our launch event this October?” the social media post’s caption said.

Set up by Downtown Dubai’s developer EMAAR, The Dubai Stars is UAE’s very own version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is located in in Seashore, Sirdhana at Mina Rashid. Along with the historical landmarks in the district are the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa and the world’s largest retail and entertainment destination, the Dubai Mall.

The group will be the very first K-Pop act to ever have their name on the prestigious “walkable tribute saluting eminent personalities who have positively contributed to the world through their work in various fields”.

They will be joining fellow esteemed names in the international community from various fields such as designer Elie Saab, football star Lionel Messi, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, Saudi Arabian singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah, and Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, among others.

The Dubai Stars by EMAAR will kick off with 400 stars to be installed in October 2019. Visualized to be a global landmark, it will see over 10,000 stars upon its completion, according to their website.

BTS’ attendance to the launch of The Dubai Star this October is yet to be confirmed, but the feat is already celebrated by ARMYs, who put the hashtag #BTSDubaiStar in the UAE’s top trending list on Twitter.
