In 28 seconds, the boys of BTS threw it back in a disco-themed music video teaser for their English single, “Dynamite”.
The countdown for BTS’ highly-anticipated English track continues with this 28-second snippet from their old-school inspired music video.
Countdown to Dynamite
Big Hit Entertainment has been launching teaser photos in the past weeks as part of the countdown for “Dynamite”. From the images alone, it was already evident that the boys once again reinvented and repackaged themselves with a fresh new style. Now, merely 2 days away from the release of BTS’ first collective English single, the company has taken to Youtube to upload a short preview of the music video.
Into the Disco Era
It may not be #ThrowbackThursday, but BTS gave fans a #TimeMachineTuesday as they jumped into a world of everything retro, vintage, old school, and disco. The snippet kicked off with the boys radiating some serious ’90s boyband vibes with colorful ensembles, messenger boy caps, bucket hats, and opaque sunglasses.
Moreover, the enchanting pastel sunset which served as their backdrop invited viewers into an era of lustrous disco glamour. (We know you noticed the dominant purple tint in the sky, ARMY. We know. #Borahae)
Bringing Back the Bell Bottoms
Progressing into outfits that exude bursts of magnificent color, Jin, Suga, RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and J-Hope rocked some beautiful old-fashioned tops and iconic bell-bottoms. The video clip was capped off with the members posing in true Saturday Night Fever style. (In proper social media lingo: Retro BTS hits different and now we’re soft.)
With a preview of this quirky and energetic magnitude, we’re definitely expecting one massive celebration of nostalgia meets 21st Century when the whole video drops. From the looks and sound of it, “Dynamite” will be an anthem that will get ARMY off their seats and on their feet.
For those who have been waiting for BTS to take on a retro aesthetic, it’s finally happening! Better shine your platform boots and polish your disco ball, because “Dynamite” is ready to light up the music scene on August 21st, 1 pm KST!
