BTS, Twice, SEVENTEEN, And More Dominate 33rd Japan Gold Disc Awards

The 33rd Japan Gold Disc Awards highlighted a lot of achievements from Korean artists.

The Japan Gold Disc Awards recognizes the top performers of the music industry in terms of music sales. This year, a lot of Korean talents shone through and won major awards from this prestigious awards show. We’ve put together the list of all the groups who have been recognized for their stellar performance in the previous year.

The big winner of the night was BTS, bagging a total of five awards. Their Japanese album, Face Yourself, won Album of the Year. This album was also included in the Best 3 Albums category, alongside Love Yourself: Answer.

BTS also won the Best Music Video award for their video coverage of the 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III, The Wings Tour in Japan, Special Edition at Kyocera Dome. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook went home with the Best Asian Artist award.

Twice, meanwhile, won two awards. The group wrapped up the Best 3 Albums category with their first Japanese studio album, BDZ. Tzuyu, Sana, Momo, Nayeon, Mina, Jihyo, Dahyun, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung ended the night with a Song of the Year by Download award for “Candy Pop.”

SEVENTEEN also garnered two awards. S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino won the New Artist of the Year award.

The group was also awarded the Best 3 New Artists award, alongside GFRIEND and MOMOLAND.
