EXID’s Solji Announces Her Departure From Banana Culture Entertainment
According to reports and Solji’s own social media account, another EXID member is spreading their wings for a solo flight
Based on reports circulating in local media, EXID’s Solji has parted ways with Banana Culture Entertainment.
She is looking for a new agency that will support her goals as a musician. The singer also took to social media to confirm the reports, addressing them in an Instagram post.
“After a series of discussions, I have decided to part ways with Banana Culture Entertainment,” her Instagram post reads. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people in the agency who have helped me receive so much love.”
She also expressed her gratitude for LEGOs, and asked that they continue to support her and the other members in the future. “I promise to reward you guys with even better music for all the love I have received!” her post adds.
Banana Culture Entertainment, however, has responded that they are still in discussions with the singer. “Solji’s contract has not been terminated yet,” a representative from the agency adds.
“Her exclusive contract is set to expire in June.” Notably, Solji has not been promoting as a solo singer, save for her work on K-Drama soundtracks.
In 2019, Hani and Jeonghwa parted ways with Banana Culture Entertainment by not renewing their contracts. Since then, they have signed with new agencies: Hani is now working with Sublime Artist Agency, and Jeonghwa signed with JWIDE-COMPANY.
Earlier this year, Hyelin announced her departure from the agency through social media.
However, Banana Culture Entertainment assured fans that EXID is not disbanding and will find ways to promote together in the future as well. EXID will continue to promote as one group in Japan, as their contract with agency Tokuma Japan has yet to expire.
