EXO Goes On Top Of SBS’ Inkigayo with “Call Me Baby”
On the latest broadcast of SBS music program Inkigayo on April 12, EXO successfully took home its sixth trophy for the hit title track, Call Me Baby, of the group’s second full album Exodus, with 9,717 votes, outstripping miss A’s Only You, and Red Velvet’s Ice Cream Cake.
Shortly after the song release on March 30, EXO has swept all the major music shows, namely SBS’ Inkigayo, MBC Music’s Show! Champion, Mnet’s M!Countdown, KBS2TV’s Music Bank, and MBC’s Show! Music Core.
It is noted that the talented group has held on to the top spot on Inkigayo for two weeks in a row with Call Me Baby.
On behalf of the group, EXO member Suho shared his thoughts on receiving the well-deserved prize, saying: “I am glad to receive the top prize. I would like to thank Lee Soo-man (Chairman of SM Entertainment) and our fans.”
This week’s Inkigayo featured a number of stages from various artists, including CLC, Crayon Pop, Huk Gak, K.Will, JJCC, and more.
In related news, EXO’s latest album Exodus has topped the iTunes Album Charts in 11 Asian countries, including Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as the Pop Album Charts in the above mentioned 11 countries, Canada and Russia, proving the group’s tremendous popularity and influence all over the world.
