EXO’s Lay Zhang Joins The Mission To Cure HIV/AIDS Through amfAR Gala Hong Kong 2019

Lay Zhang joins amfAR’s mission to end the global AIDS epidemic through the amfAR Gala Hong Kong 2019!

EXO’s Lay Zhang showed his support to the pursuit of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, to find and develop a scientific basis for a cure for HIV/AIDS and accelerate the pace of the research by gracing the amfAR Gala Hong Kong 2019 on March 25 at the Rosewood Hong Kong.

Dressed to the nine in Calvin Klein, the singer-songwriter joined other stars in the black-tie event including Pharrell Williams, Heidi Klum, Michelle Yeoh, Perrie Png, Donnie Yen, Carina Lau, Pansy Ho, former U-KISS member Kevin Woo, Ha Ji Won, Choi Jin Hyuk, and more.

Aside from attending the gala, Lay Zhang also took the stage for a performance of “Flavor”, a track from his third solo album NAMANANA. Dressed in white, the EXO member, whose song “Namanana” was recently recognized as one of the top ten songs of the year at the 26th ERC Chinese Top Ten Awards, serenaded the crowd with his sweet voice and delivered a breathtaking performance of the song while playing the piano.

Through his performance, he made history as the first Chinese singer to perform at the annual amfAR Gala Hong Kong.

Now on its fifth year, the annual amfAR Gala Hong Kong aims to raise funds in support of the organization’s initiative for HIV/AIDS cure research, prevention, education, and other related public policy. Since its inception in 2015, the charity event has raised more than 14 million USD.

Other than Hong Kong, the amfAR held galas in other cities including New York and Los Angeles in the United States, Milan in Italy, and São Paulo in Brazil.
