EXO’s Lay Zhang To Make His Debut Appearance At Met Gala This Year

From music to acting and now, fashion, Lay Zhang definitely was born to slay every time.

After making an appearance at the biggest and most prestigious music awards show, the Grammy Awards, early this year, EXO’s Lay Zhang will now make his name more known to the world of fashion through the Met Gala.

The singer-songwriter has been invited to join the annual fundraising gala this year which will take place on May 6 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The announcement was made by NetEase Entertainment Channel through its Weibo account, where the post was showered with congratulatory and supportive messages for the EXO member.

As Lay Zhang is the first brand ambassador of Valentino Men’s Wear in the Greater China region, he is expected to don the Italian fashion house’s creation at this year’s gala which will center on the theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion”.

For his debut on Grammy Awards’ red carpet, he impressed in a Valentino suit and dazzled in Chaumet jewerly. The “Namanana” singer also serves as Chaumet’s brand ambassador in China and previously teamed up with the brand for a special music video for “Liens Sea” for Chinese Valentine’s Day.

More Than Proud: Fans Show Off Their Pride For Lay

Still, regardless of the style he will don for the Met Gala, he already made his fans proud. Many cannot contain their excitement to see him at fashion’s biggest night. They also took to Twitter to express how proud they are of the singer-songwriter who seems to level himself up every time — whether in music, acting, or fashion.

Some are also already sending suggestions of the look Lay Zhang could pull off at the gala.

In addition to Met Gala, Lay Zhang will drop a new single on May 4 for China’s Youth Day celebration. The new song will be a special collaboration with Chris Lee.

Also, the EXO member previously hinted an upcoming release. He posted a mysterious photo of a bee and a honeycomb on his social media accounts on May 1. The photo update led fans to speculate that the singer-songwriter will soon drop his fourth solo album.
