EXO Takes Over Melon Music Chart On Their 8th Debut Anniversary With Their Songs And OSTs
EXO reigned on Melon’s music chart as fans made an endearing celebration of their special milestone today!
On the day of their debut anniversary, EXO dominated the music charts with songs and OSTs they have released for the past eight years, including their debut track, solo works, and top hits which previously captured hearts all around the world.
A perfect fit for the occasion, the solo debut track of EXO’s leader Suho titled “Let’s Love”, which throws an ode to the group’s team slogan he created himself, took over the number one spot on Melon’s music chart at 1 AM KST on April 8, the day of their eight debut anniversary.
The song was sweetly followed by the EXO’s sixth full-length album’s title track “Obsession” at number five. The song was released in November last year, which means it has again topped the charts after five months.
EXO’s signature hit “Growl” was also ranked 24th. “Power” ranked at 26 as well, with the group’s debut song “MAMA” following right away at 27.
“Love Shot” and “Love Me Right” also placed back-to-back on the chart at 29 and 30, while “Tempo” ranked at number 33 followed by “Ko Ko Bop” at 34 and “Call Me Baby” at 35. The powerful hits “Monster”, “Lotto”, and “Wolf”, which all remain iconic up to this day, took over the 40th, 44th, and 48th spots, respectively.
Solo Tracks and OSTs
There were also various OSTs sung by EXO members which occupied high positions on the chart. Both sung by Baekhyun, “My Love”, the OST of SBS’ Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2, and “On The Road” from SBS’ Hyena ranked 7th and 19th, respectively.
Chanyeol’s latest soundtrack reunion collaboration with Punch for Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2 titled “Go Away Go Away” also ranked 22nd.
In addition to “Let’s Love”, all the other songs from Suho’s first solo album Self-Portrait were also charting high on Melon for the group’s anniversary. This include “Made in You” at 31st, “Self-Portrait” at 37th, “O2” at 38th, “For You Now” at 41st, and “Starry Night” at 42nd.
Although there are slight changes in rankings on the charts at 7 to 9 AM KST, which are the time when music streaming users flock to work and school, all songs managed to successfully remain in the charts.
As a result, EXO charted in high ranks on the eighth anniversary of their debut, showcasing their wide range of discography from their debut track up to their most recently promoted songs as well as their OST.
Both a celebration of the group’s eight debut anniversary and the enjoyable music they have released since the start, this gift from fans definitely serve as a heartwarming cherry on top for the group’s special milestone.
