EXO-SC Sets Record On Weibo For Most Real-Time Viewers On Live Broadcast By Korean Artists

EXO-SC has officially recorded the highest number of real-time viewers for a live broadcast by Korean artists on Weibo!

The newest EXO sub-unit made up of rap line members Chanyeol and Sehun recently hosted a live broadcast on China’s Weibo on July 20 KST.

Following its broadcast, SM Entertainment first revealed that the show recorded a total of 2.117 million live viewers. This marked the first time in the history of Korean artists to surpass two million live viewers as well as achieve such record-high figures in the Chinese media channel.

Weibo later verified the record that Chanyeol and Sehun had listed through its official account where they stated “Sehun and Chanyeol’s high influence in China has been re-certified” and praised “EXO, which continues to create history.”

In the broadcast, Chanyeol and Sehun received a good response from fans as they introduced their first mini-album What A Life which was released on July 22.

They also communicated closely with fans through various corners such as recommending music playlists, exploring food tastes, and playing a mini-billiard game.

Showing the success of their launch as EXO’s newest sub-unit, Chanyeol and Sehun’s debut mini-album What A Life topped iTunes’ top album chart in 48 regions around the world.

It also took over the number one spot on the album sales chart of China’s biggest music site QQ Music upon its release, alongside various domestic music charts as well.
