EXO-Ls, it is (sadly) time to wish EXO’s Xiumin a safe military service!

EXO’s eldest member Xiumin has finally announced that he will be quietly joining the military on May 7.

Through a post in EXO’s official fan club site, the 29-year-old idol informed his beloved EXO-Ls that he will soon be starting his mandatory military service.

Starting off with greeting fans especially right after EXO had celebrated their seventh year anniversary, the singer reminded everyone just how much he loved his group. “Flowers are appearing, the weather has gotten warmer, and yesterday was EXO’s seventh anniversary since we debuted! I feel grateful to everyone and everything because I feel like EXO was born at a very nice time,” he said.

“To be honest, I am writing today as I have important news that I want to share with all of you first. Military duty. I am going to the military on May 7,” Xiumin revealed.

With EXO-Ls undoubtedly having a hard time to accept the news, he assured them not to worry with a promise. “I’ll be taking care of myself well,” he consoled fans in the post.

Private Enlistment

SM Entertainment has also confirmed the report while also revealing the singer’s wish to enlist as active duty soldier quietly. The agency said that there will be no events or greetings on his day of enlistment. Additionally, the location and time will be kept private.

With less than a month before he begins his 21 months of military service, EXO-Ls should maximize their time to support the idol’s remaining shows.

“We have a CBX concert soon, and I’ll be back after finishing it successfully, so please wait a little while,” Xiumin said.

Together with fellow members Baekhyun and Chen, Xiumin is currently busy preparing for EXO-CBX’s live tour. The vocal trio is set to serenade Japanese fans at the MAGICAL CIRCUS – 2019 Special Edition at Saitama Super Arena on April 16 and 17. Soon after, they will melt fans’ hearts at Kobe Memorial Hall on April 27 to 29.
