EXO’s D.O. To Enlist For Military Service In July
Do Kyung Soo is the second member of EXO confirmed to begin army duty after Xiumin.
Confirming D.O.’s entry to military camp, SM Entertainment revealed the start date of the singer-actor’s military conscription to be on the first of July.
In addition, the agency discloses how EXO’s D.O. still has a leeway to delay his entry since he was born in 1993. Under the current military service law, application for postponement is allowed five times until the age of 28. Therefore, EXO’s D.O. still has until 2021 to start serving. However, with Xiumin’s announced entry, he expressed willingness to fulfill the service as soon as possible.
After discussing with SM Entertainment and EXO members, Do Kyung Soo decided to join the active service and recently submitted his application. Thereafter, his enlistment date has been set on July 1.
Debuted in 2012 as EXO’s main vocalist, D.O. has since ventured in acting projects in film and television. While actively promoting as a member of one of K-Pop’s royalty groups, the talented artist continues to explore his artistry.
Recognized for their chart-topping and award-winning music, EXO has produced hit tracks including “MAMA”, “Growl”, “Kokobop”, and “Love Shot”.
In 2014, his sound portrayal in SBS It’s Okay, That’s Love earned him accolades, as well as, close friendship with Jo In Sung. Thus, making him a fixed member of the aforementioned actor’s friendship circle who travel and meet up as a group together.
Subsequently, the follow up works of EXO’s D.O. in KBS2’s Hello Monster and films Cart, My Annoying Brother and Along With the Gods were met with great feedbacks.
Last year proved to be a bountiful year for the artist as he notched his first film male starrer with Swing Kids. Moreover, his performance in high-rating tvN period-romance drama 100 Days My Prince was also lauded.
