Jung Yong Hwa, Jung Jin Young, Yong Jun Hyung, Zico, Woozi, B.I & More Promoted As Full Members Of KOMCA

KOMCA released its list of promoted songwriters into full members, and several idols made it!

The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) named 25 songwriters, including several idol members, as its new full members.

KOMCA, a non-profit organization in charge of collective rights management of musical works, unveiled the list of 25 songwriters, who were promoted to full membership in its homepage, ahead of its 56th general assembly on February 19 at the 63 Convention Center in Seoul.

The list includes several members of K-Pop idols namely CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa, Jung Jin Young, Highlight’s Yong Jun Hyung, Zico, Akdong Musician’s Lee Chan Hyuk, SEVENTEEN’s Woozi, and iKON’s B.I.

In addition to these idols, the organization also listed singer Chancellor, Big Hit Entertainment producer Slow Rabbit, Pledis Entertainment producer Bumzu, singer Zion.T, pianist and composer Yiruma, rapper Gray, Busker Busker’s Jang Beom Jun, 10cm’s Kwon Jung Yeol, among others.

Out of more than 30,000 members, the Korea Music Copyright Association promotes 25 of its junior members into full members every year. Becoming a full member in KOMCA requires at least three years in the organization as a junior members. It is also dependent on the amount of royalties a songwriter receives.

Last year, BTS’ Suga, Oh Hyuk, and Simon D were among those chosen to become full members. In 2017, KOMCA promoted Lim Chang Jung and Kim Tae Woo into full membership. The year 2016 saw chose IU and Crush join the ranks of the organization’s full members. And back in 2015, BoA and Jang Ki Ha became part of KOMCA’s list of full members.
