f(x)’s Luna Becomes Humap Contents’ Newest Talent After SM Entertainment
Luna has been taking steps towards blazing her ideal career path, and she’s kicking things off by signing with a new entertainment company.
After ten years of growing with SM Entertainment, Luna departed from SM Entertainment. The all-around K-Pop and theater musician recently announced that she has signed an exclusive contract with Humap Contents.
An official from the agency confirmed the news through a statement. “We will spare no efforts to make use of Luna’s charms and musical talents through overseas advancement and our specialized A&R capabilities,” it noted. “We ask for your interest in her future activities.”
Humap Contents is an entertainment company that prides itself in developing artists through overseas exposure. In order to maximize Luna’s talents, it will be crafting an artist-oriented domestic and overseas management plans in order to develop her career using its existing overseas agency-based business.
Luna recently took to Instagram to confirm the news. “I’d like to thank my SMTOWN family, whom I have laughed and cried with,” she wrote. “I promise to work harder and do my best to show various sides of myself to my fans.”
Luna rose to fame as a member of powerful girl group f(x). Alongside Sulli, Amber, Victoria, and Krystal, Luna etched her name in K-Pop history through songs such as “LA chA TA“, “Nu ABO“, and “Hot Summer”.
Prior to her departure from SM Entertainment, Luna has been gaining traction as a powerful soloist. She also had serenaded K-Drama fans with her work for different soundtracks. She rose to the top with her Free Somebody EP in 2016, and showcased her vocal power through “Even So” in 2019.
In addition, Luna also showed her acting talents through musicals. In 2011, she starred as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical. Recently, she portrayed Nina Rosario in In The Heights in 2016, and Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With The Wind in 2018. She is set to play Sophie in Mamma Mia! this year.
