Girl’s Day’s Yura And (G)I-DLE Named Seoul’s Goodwill Ambassadors
Meet Seoul’s new goodwill ambassadors — Girl’s Day’s Yura and (G)I-DLE!
Seoul Metropolitan City appointed Girl’s Day’s Yura and rookie girl group (G)I-DLE as its goodwill ambassadors, joining nine other citizens including designer Zio Song, actress Park Jin Hee, and make-up artist Jung Saem Mool.
The new 11 goodwill ambassadors were appointed on December 6 at the Sewoon Hall in Jongno District. Seoul’s Mayor Park Won Soon led the appointment ceremony where he also acknowledged the hard work and efforts of the past ambassadors.
As goodwill ambassadors, Yura and (G)I-DLE will star in promotional materials for the city. They will also make appearances at offline events to interact with Seoul residents. The 11 new goodwill ambassadors will hold the title for two years.
Aside from their new roles as ambassadors, Yura and (G)I-DLE also had a busy 2018.
The Girl’s Day member focused on her solo activities this year by starring in KBS2’s drama Radio Romance and MBC Every1’s variety show Ocean Police. She also hosted the 2018 Miss Korea Pageant and is currently the host of ZHTV’s Weekly China Now.
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE made its debut this 2018 through its first extended play I Am and lead single “Latata”. Composed of Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua, the girl group has won four rookie awards and six music program wins.
