Golden Child Breaks Initial Sales Record With “YES”
Golden Child marks its first sales record surpassing 100,000 copies and continues to show growing global popularity.
Boy group Golden Child reached its highest record of album sales since debut. The album that made this happen is their last released work under the title YES.
According to Gaon chart, the fifth mini-album, which came out in January, recorded 113,966 sold copies. This is 15,727 more than their previous release Pump It Up. In particular, it is the first time since its debut that Golden Child sold more than 100,000 copies.
The group drew attention after introducing a new look through its first full album Re-boot. The idols continued to show a steady rise, different image and mesmerizing performances through Without You, Take A Leap, Pump It Up and YES.
The artists established themselves as a “popular boy group” with significant achievements in all aspects such as winning two crowns on music broadcast shows, breaking its own initial record with YES and entering the top of major domestic and overseas sites.
In addition, the music video for “Without You”, the title track of their repackage album released in January last year, surpassed 20 million views on YouTube, proving the hot popularity of the group among global fans.
Also, the boys’ latest mini-album managed to impress not only with its unique sound, but also with its music video for “Burn It”. The cinematic take that presented an apocalyptic world overrun with zombies, as well as the members’ acting, surprised and left viewers breathless.
Golden Child has been active in group and individual activities, amid the interest of domestic and foreign fans. Attention is focusing on what kind of moves will the idols make in the future.
