Honey Lee Makes TV Comeback Through Upcoming MBC Historical Drama

The actress is officially returning to the small screen.

Honey Lee just confirmed her comeback project as she headlines Flower that Blooms at Night (literal title). The series is MBC’s forthcoming sageuk (historical drama) which follows the story of a woman leading a double life.

Lee will play the role of Jo Yeo Hwa, a widow of fifteen years living a secret life. By day, she is the epitome of a good and obedient daughter-in-law from a noble family. She is sheltered and lives quietly at the confines of her home, creating a picture of a virtuous woman. However, when the sun goes down, she sheds that image and sneaks out at night to help those in need with people none the wiser.

Honey Lee has captivated audiences with roles in dramas One the Woman, The Fiery Priest, and The Rebel, among others. She also starred in films Phantom and Extreme Job. Flower that Blooms at Night marks Honey Lee’s return to acting after giving birth. As such, there is anticipation in her performance.

Directors Choi Jung In and Jang Tae Yoo share directing duties. Meanwhile writers  Lee Saem and Jung Myung-In are in charge of the script . PD Jang Tae Yoo’s previous works include dramas Hyena, My Love from the Star, Tree with Deep Roots, and Lovers of the Red Sky.

Flower that Blooms at Night is preparing for production with the intent to broadcast in the second half of 2023.
