Jun Ji Hyun, So Ji Sub, Kim Hee Sun, 2PM’s Taecyeon & More Took Part In Donation Drive For Coronavirus-Affected Victims

South Korean celebrities continue to unite to give monetary assistance to aid coronavirus impacted people

South Korean actress Kim Hee-sun (Angry Mom, Faith, Room No.9) has reportedly donated 100 million won in light with the COVID 19 outbreak which terribly took over South Korea.

According to Good Neighbors, an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991, the actress’ generous donation of 100 million won distinctively helped people among underprivileged sectors. The relief amount seeks to help low-income people of South Korea for procuring masks and hand sanitizer which will be distributed accordingly.

The donated amount will also be used to purchase daily necessities kits to families in need in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province. The charitable gesture aims to help the increasing number of confirmed 2019 Coronavirus patients in South Korea.


Jun Ji Hyun previously donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association primarily for the victims affected by the coronavirus. According to Culture Depot, Jun Ji Hyun joined the donation drive hoping that it would give a little comfort to any people in need and she also hoped that everyone can overcome the crisis.



Jun Ji Hyun also joined a generous movement. According to recent reports, Actress Jun Ji Hyun (My Love From The Star, Legend of the Blue Sea) decided to cut the rent of her tenants by 10%.

The cut down of rent will be effective for the month of March and April. Labeled as “Good Landlords Movement”, celebrities such as Park Eun Hye (Hi Bye, Mama!, Dae Jang Geum ) Seo Jang Hoon (Knowing Brothers), and Hong Seok Cheon were involved in the movement.

The mentioned celebrities reportedly cut down the rents of their tenants affected by the coronavirus and help alleviate them from their sufferings due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The famous couple Kim Tae Hee-Rain also shown a kind gesture by lessening the rate of rent of the tenants of their building.

51K Brothers’ Donations

Actor So Ji Sub (My Secret Terrius, Oh My Venus) also contributed financial assistance for the victims of coronavirus. According to his agency 51K, he donated a generous amount of 300 million won to NGO Good Neighbors.

So Ji Sub’s donation will be used to support medical supplies and daily necessities. It also aims to support the necessities and livelihoods of low-income families.

Remarkably, So Ji Sub is a great member of “The Neighbors Club”. The mentioned club requires a donation of more than 10 million won annually which was indeed a very charitable effort done by the actor.

Singer and actor Ok Taecyeon also donated in the current crisis South Korea is experiencing.

According to the International Relief Development NGO Good Neighbors, the singer and actor Ok Taecyeon donated 50 million won on March 6.

The assistance provided by Ok Taecyeon will be used to acquire masks and coronavirus-preventive health supplies for low-income families who have difficulty in providing hygiene products.
