JYJ Sweeps Music Charts with First Japanese Single
JYJ has reached high rankings on several music charts in Japan with its first Japanese single Wake Me Tonight.
The trio’s single was released last Wednesday and has since been received positive responses from fans with 20,609 copies sold. Right after its release, Wake Me Tonight ranked second spot on Oricon Daily Chart. The single even dominated Japan’s Tower Records, as well as HMV 24 Hours Charts, proving JYJ’s continuous popularity across this country.
This is the very first time that JYJ has released its official single as a three-member group in Japanese music industry. The group has cooperated with K-dash, an entertainment agency in Japan.
Last year, the trio’s Korean album Just Us took over popular Japanese music charts without any official promotion.
