JYP Signs Global Strategic Partnership With Live Nation
JYP Entertainment sealed a global strategic partnership with Live Nation establishing a cooperation system for the best performance business.
On November 14, JYP Entertainment officially announced the news.
“Through the partnership with Live Nation, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, Xdinary Heroes (XH), NMIXX, we will produce performances by new and promising artists in the future, including our artist lineup.”
The signing of this partnership between JYP Entertainment and Live Nation is significant in that it formalizes and further expands an existing relationship in which the two companies have achieved successful results in producing and promoting performances together over the past several years.
The combination of JYP Entertainment, which has expertise as an innovative talent discovery and management company, and Live Nation, which has extensive global performance resources, is expected to create new opportunities for artists to connect and communicate with fans on a larger scale.
Both companies plan to further expand the global growth of JYP Entertainment artists by adding creativity and expertise.
Currently, Live Nation operates in the performance business in more than 45 regions around the world and has sold more than 140 million global performance tickets by 2023. This partnership is expected to provide a new scope for K-pop performances to reach globally.
Artists under JYP Entertainment have made history by successfully leading numerous world tours produced by Live Nation.
Twice entered and held sold-out performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in June of this year and MetLife Stadium in New York in July, and became the first K-pop girl group to headline American football and professional baseball stadiums in North America. They are showing off their status as ‘global stadium headliners’ by successfully carrying out their fifth and largest world tour READY TO BE, which consists of 44 performances in 25 regions around the world in 2023.
Stray Kids solidified their position as a ‘global trend’ with their second world tour MANIAC. Starting from Seoul in April 2022, they performed a total of 42 performances in 18 regions, through North America, Japan, Asia, and back to LA in the United States, meeting fans around the world. In the process, they performed at the Bank of California Stadium (BMO Stadium) located in Los Angeles, USA, becoming the second K-pop boy group to enter and sell out a stadium concert in North America.
This partnership was concluded based on JYP Entertainment’s intention to broaden its presence in the global market. In June 2023, JYP Entertainment expanded strategic collaboration with America’s No. 1 label Republic Records formed a company-wide global cooperation system. This is based on the collaboration that started with Twice in February 2020, which proved its power by achieving excellent results in the US market, and the global success of JYP Entertainment artists such as Stray Kids and ITZY, further heightening the pinnacle of K-pop in the global music market.
With this partnership, JYP Entertainment and Live Nation will be at the forefront of K-pop’s global expansion.
